Word has recently come up that the production of Apple’s “iPad Pro” has been put on hold due to issues related to component supply availability.

Based on different leaks and rumors newsbits hailing from Taiwan, it is noted that the larger screen sized “iPad Pro” is facing some issues related to the availability of sapphire screens – with some news bits indicating that the actual product itself has been “shelved”.

As an Apple-branded device, the “iPad Pro” is alleged to feature a 12.9 inch display, and has long-been alleged to roll out by fall this year.

The recent rumors touching up on the availability of the tablet’s components is matched by previous reports from other digital media outfits – particularly reports that touch up on how problematic the software and development support for jumbo-sized tablets can be at this point and time.

To date, the iPad Air is currently the largest tablet in Apple’s iPad portfolio, boasting a screen that measures 9.7 inches.

The rumored “iPad Pro” stems from a “value proposition aspect” in the tablet spectrum of mobile devices as a functional alternative to laptops, specifically the now-defunct netbook range.

The rumors of the “iPad Pro’s” component supply problems is further backed by the sentiments of Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, who notes that even if a larger iPad would be released by Apple this year, its shipments would not be as robust when compared to its smaller-sized counterparts.

What do you think? Think Apple’s “iPad Pro” is really going to make its debut this year?
